Becoming a member of Dahlem Research School
Benefits:
- Quality assurance: DRS programs meet specified standards, which are reviewed regularly in consultations with DRS. If support is needed, DRS will advise on solutions.
- Membership of DRS increases the visibility of the programs, e.g. through the annual DRS brochure “Facts and Figures”.
- DRS Certificate and Doctoral Degree: A DRS certificate and transcript are issued upon successful completion of the program. For many departments at Freie Universität, successful completion of a DRS program is a formal requirement for the PhD degree.
- Better and easier implementation of structured selection processes: DRS programs receive a customized application platform within the DRS online application tool, OpenCampus.
- Consulting: The DRS supports program initiatives in an advisory capacity, reviews applications for third-party funding in the area of graduate funding according to international standards, and accompanies projects during inspections.
- Qualification: All doctoral researchers in member programs can participate in DRS workshops and courses. They receive training in non-specialist skills and support in career planning. DRS also supports the development of new, specific qualification offers for the member programs.
-
Networking: DRS's interdisciplinary offers allow doctoral researchers in member programs to interact with researchers in other disciplines.
