Since 2017, Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Zurich are strategic partners. With the goal of strengthening their cooperation in teaching and research, the universities established the new fund "Collaborating across boundaries – Interdisciplinary Partnerships in Research and Education" of 50.000 € in total. These financial means are meant to contribute to interdisciplinary networking among scientists and to breaking down borders between disciplines in research and education.

Fact finding missions, workshops, research activities, preparation of seminars or other teaching formats, as well as the preparation of third-party applications can be funded.
