Back in October, 45 students were pleased to receive notification that they had been granted a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship at Freie Universität. The scholarships were officially awarded on December 4, at a ceremony held at the university’s Henry Ford Building for Ernst Reuter Day, which also marked the 65th anniversary of the founding of Freie Universität Berlin itself.
After a welcome address given by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Peter André Alt, the focus turned to this year’s award winners: Four scholars and scientists received the Ernst Reuter Prize in recognition of their outstanding dissertations. The DRS Award was also presented to two instructors from Freie Universität for their exemplary supervision of doctoral candidates.
Afterward, university president Peter-André Alt and Peter Lange, Director of Administration and Finance, presented the official certificates to this year’s recipients and supporters of the Deutschlandstipendium at Freie Universität Berlin. After the ceremony, Freie Universität invited attendees to a reception in the foyer of the Henry Ford Building, where new scholarship recipients and supporters had the chance to get to know each other personally. Past and current recipients took the opportunity to catch up with others.
