María José Muñoz Calvo talks about the transnational network opportunities provided by Deutschlandstipendium
May 30, 2013
After earning her master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Latin American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin, Muñoz Calvo, who is originally from Bolivia, plans to become involved at the international level in support of debates surrounding access to and management of natural resources.
“To me, social involvement and commitment to Latin America and studying go hand in hand. I think it is very exciting that the support I am receiving in this comes from an Asian company, because this reflects the current shift taking place in global dynamics while also opening up opportunities for much-needed new dialogue. The insight into real-world practice that I gleaned from this global company and the support provided by my mentor are very helpful, including with an eye to my start in the working world. To me, the Deutschlandstipendium is synonymous with international networking.”
