"Paris. A Photographic Literary Stroll"

Vernissage of Photographs by Ursula Eckertz-Popp and a Reading by Andrea Held on July 6 in the Foyer of the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin

On July 6 a photography exhibition by Ursula Eckertz-Popp will be opened with a literary stroll through Paris, presented by Andrea Held. The exhibition in the Foyer of the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin will contain photographs with motifs of various trips to Paris and will be on display until September 1, 2016. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Admission to the exhibition and the vernissage is free.

Ursula Eckertz-Popp received her training as a photographer in Bamberg and then went to Berlin, where she studied photographic technique. She has had numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad. She also worked for many years at the Institute of Chemistry at Freie Universität and then at the University Library. The new exhibition "Paris. A Photographic Literary Stroll" is her fourth exhibition in the Foyer of the University Library.

At the exhibition opening on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 7 p.m., the Berlin actress Andrea Held will read a selection of texts about Paris, inspired by various German and other authors from the 19th and 20th centuries, including Heinrich Heine, Erich Kästner, Mascha Kaléko, Guy de Maupassant, and Henry Miller.

In addition to the photographs, a selection of these texts from the collections of several libraries at Freie Universität will be on display.
