High Commissioner of the UN Refugee Agency delivered keynote address at Freie Universität Berlin

In an address at Freie Universität, UN-High Commissioner Filippo Grandi pointed out that two-thirds of the world’s refugees are displaced within their own countries. “That’s where the refugee crisis is taking place, not in Europe!”

The High Commissioner of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Filippo Grandi, visited Freie Universität on June 18. He gave a public lecture on the global refugee situation and current challenges surrounding the protection of refugees.
Following the keynote address, Grandi engaged in a discussion with students, moderated by Jaafar Abdul-Karim, known for his program “Shabab Talk” on Deutsche Welle.
