On July 3, a delegation from Brazil visited Freie Universität Berlin. Researchers from the federal universities of Goiás and São Paulo, UFG and UNIFESP, are collaborating with project partners from FU Berlin and the University of Wuppertal to explore and cultivate native Brazilian plants aiming to develop and produce innovative raw materials for the cosmetic industry. In addition to the universities of Goiânia, São Paulo, Berlin, and Wuppertal, key project partners are the women's group Guerreiras de Canudos from the state of Goiás and the Brazilian company Livealoe. The international research project, currently funded by the German Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity (BMLEH), brings together expertise in agricultural science, biotechnology, chemistry, and pharmacy. At Freie Universität, the delegation was received by the Vice President for International Affairs, and in the evening, the guests attended a reception hosted by the Berlin University Alliance at the Brazilian Embassy.
