From December 10 to 12, an administrative delegation from Freie Universität visited the University of Helsinki, which is one of FU's closest partners in the Una Europa network. The delegation consisted of representatives from the FUB IT, Budget, International Affairs, Human Resources, K-Office, BUA Staff Office and Veterinary Medicine as well as History and Cultural Studies. The exchange and further training focused on the topic of “AI in administration”.  It became apparent that the University of Helsinki, which has already largely described and digitalized its service processes - from e-recruiting to business trip accounting, from mapping problematic collaborations to consulting issues - is also well advanced in the use of artificial intelligence. This also applies to the area of teaching, where, for example, the self-developed tool “Currechat”, which is based on generative AI models, is increasingly being used to plan curricula or student tasks. The visit also highlighted the extent to which the two universities have forged closer ties in recent years through their membership of the Una Europa network, not only at an administrative level but also in the field of science.
