Events (selected)
One of Freie Universität Berlin’s top priorities in eastern Europe is to promote scientific exchange and academic cooperation with Ukraine. Events, workshops, and conferences are frequently held in cooperation with Ukrainian partner institutions and serve to expand scientific debate as well as consolidate interdisciplinary networks. Our focus in this regard lies on exploring innovative approaches to research, developing long-term solutions and strategies to global challenges, and disseminating scientific findings among a wider specialist audience.
- January 27– 31, 2025 – GIP winter school for students from German and Ukrainian universities: “Experiencing Literature: German-Ukrainian Encounters” (Prof. Dr. Hille)
- October 2024 – ceecon – DGO Congress of Central and East European Studies at Freie Universität Berlin
- International Staff Week 2024 – Participants from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
- December 6, 2023 – Visit of the president of Mohyla Academy in Kyiv, Prof. Dr. Sergiy Kvit, to Freie Universität Berlin

By sharing calls for application for grants, funding programs, and joint research projects, Freie Universität Berlin hopes to advance and consolidate scientific cooperation with Ukraine on a structural level and promote international knowledge exchange in the long term.
