Job Shadowing - Staff Development and Welcome Service
A well-designed onboarding process for new staff members not only allows an employer to make a good first impression, it is also crucial for ensuring a new hire’s engagement from day one as well as staff retention. The Staff Development and Welcome Service team looks forward to welcoming other HR experts to our three-day job shadowing program and sharing insights with you from our experience in the field of staff development and onboarding of local as well as international staff. As part of the program, we will also be visiting colleagues from the University of Potsdam. Our aim is to connect and exchange ideas in order to learn from one another.
This track is aimed at higher education professionals working in HR, welcome centers and international departments who support new (international) staff members and researchers as they settle into their position and guide them in their development within the university.
Please review our draft agenda.
Participation in this job-shadowing program is limited to a maximum of 4 participants.
The application period will end on 26 January 2026. As we usually receive more applications than available places, the motivation questions in the application form are an important part of the selection process – we therefore kindly ask you to complete them carefully. The program is designed for active participation, and contributions from participants are warmly welcomed.
