Gender and Diversity in Higher Education – Insights from the Margherita von Brentano Center

As part of Freie Universität Berlin's International Staff Week, the Margherita von Brentano Center for Gender Studies (MvBZ) will host a program track focused on promoting and advancing gender and diversity in research and teaching through innovative approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The MvBZ, a central unit at Freie Universität, is dedicated to supporting gender and diversity perspectives through interdisciplinary teaching, research, Open Access publishing and academic exchange. With an emphasis on fostering inclusive practices, the center promotes initiatives that integrate gender and diversity into academic contexts.

During the sessions, participants will explore practical strategies for incorporating gender-sensitive and diversity-aware approaches into academic practices. Interactive discussions and workshops will address challenges such as unconscious biases, inclusive teaching, and gender & diversity-sensitive research practices.

The program is designed for those working in higher education who are looking to engage with these issues on a professional level and learn from international perspectives.
