What are the requirements for participating in a teaching mobility stay at a partner university?

The Erasmus team must have seen the inter-institutional agreement with the partner university in which teaching stays are covered. Erasmus+ agreements can only be conducted with partner universities that hold a valid ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education). You will find an overview of existing agreements in our partnership database.

The minimum duration for a teaching stay is two days and the maximum duration is two months (60 days).

A minimum of 8 hours must be completed per full week of your stay. Each week commenced will be calculated at 1.6 hours/day. A minimum of 8 teaching hours also applies to stays with a total duration of less than one week.

Example 1: 3 days’ stay = 8 teaching hours
Example 2: 7 days = 8 teaching hours
Example 3: 10 days = 13 teaching hours (8 for the first 7 days + 4.8 for days 8 -10)
Example 4: 14 days = 16 teaching hours (= two full weeks).

The funding starts from the first day on which attendance at your host university is mandatory as specified in the agreement and confirmed with your host university. Additional funding can be granted for departure and arrival days.

For Erasmus+ teaching stays, funding is available for persons who have a contractual relationship with Freie Universität, including emeritus and retired professors as well as instructors. In addition, doctoral students who are enrolled at Freie Universität Berlin are eligible for funding.
