News from May 16, 2024

With "AdvanceAcademia! Strengthening Academic Careers", the Berlin University Alliance is offering the first diversity-sensitive program to promote structured collaboration in tandem between doctoral students and supervisors. It is open to all research fields and disciplines.

The program runs for six months, is free of charge and includes a selection of modules that can be chosen individually. From April 2024, we will allocate up to 30 places per month to supervisors of doctoral projects and their doctoral students. The supervisors of the doctoral theses usually take part together with their doctoral students. However, doctoral candidates who wish to participate can also be accepted into the program without their supervisor. Doctoral candidates and their supervisors from any instiutions across Germany can register.

The focus is on promoting

  • the regular work of doctoral students on their doctoral project
  • the implementation of an effective and lively evaluation and feedback culture
  • the independent, regular, and close-meshed reflection of the progress of the doctorate
  • a gender- and diversity-sensitive attitude in research, teaching and health care

The program is scientifically monitored and evaluated.

You can receive 8 hours of university didactics (habilitation), 1.8 ECTS points (Promotionsumgebung) or 30 CME points (Ärztekammer) for participating in the program. (This information on certification applies to students and scientists of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Please discuss with your own instiution to which degree participation can be officially recognized.)
