Comments
As part of the FUturist project “Ein Rasen(d) Scha(r)fes Projekt”, grassland maintenance on the Düppel campus is made more sustainable through the use of sheep. The aim of this elective course is to teach preclinical students the basic handling of small ruminants and agricultural basics.
The students work independently on lectures on the topics of sheep husbandry, species conservation, grassland care and pasture management. In addition to the theoretical part, the practical part includes checking animal health, fences and drinking troughs, pasture fence construction, sheep grazing and general sheep handling.
