Comments
This seminar, conducted in English, introduces students to research in experimental neurology, focusing on animal models of neurological disorders, particularly epilepsy. It covers key laboratory techniques, providing insight into their application in neuroscience.
In addition to technical skills, students will develop critical reading and discussion abilities, learning how to interpret scientific literature and assess research methods. The course also includes hands-on training in data extraction and analysis, where students will work with real fluorescent microscopy images and perform statistical evaluations using freely available software. Furthermore, they will gain experience in scientific data presentation through collaborative discussions.
Beyond technical skills, this seminar fosters an analytical approach to research methodology, offering an excellent opportunity for students considering a scientific career or those curious about research. By the end, students will have gained both theoretical and practical expertise in experimental neurology, equipping them to critically evaluate studies and apply key neuroscience methodologies.
