Qualification goals: Students will have advanced knowledge of the grammatical structures, the diachronic and dialectal forms of Hittite and the diachronic and regional forms of cuneiform writing. They will be able to define the cuneiform textual testimonies on the topic of ‘knowledge, thought, ideas’ in Hittite and work on them independently from a historical and cultural studies perspective.

Contents: Students will gain an overview of the Hittite-language cuneiform tradition on the topics of ‘knowledge, thought, ideas’ with a special focus on formal, diachronic and dialectal varieties of Hittite close
