Information for students
Die Veranstaltung erfolgt in englischer Sprache.
Comments
We will investigate the potential of stable isotope analysis in archaeology. At the start, we will discuss the various isotopes that are used and the information they can provide. We will also look into methods and challenges in the interpretation. Next, we will discuss case studies and get familiar with themes that can be investigated through stable isotope analysis, such as diet, mobility, animal husbandry and arable farming. At the end, we will look at a few examples that combine multiple isotopes and/or integrate stable isotope analysis with other fields of archaeology, and look at new developments in stable isotope analysis, such as the application of stable isotope analysis to cremated remains and laser ablation. close
