In terms of foreign policy, Japan is supporting the geographically distant Ukraine and in Asia it is moving closer to Taiwan. Can Japan, as a pillar of the democratic camp, contribute to the stability of the international order? In the Japanese business world, there is a trend towards gender equality or liberalisation of the labour market. Are conservative corporate and labour market structures about to change permanently?
