In this course, we will explore the ethnographic concept of ‘feasting’ together, and find out to what extent feasting leaves traces that archaeologists can recognise. We will start with general literature on the roles and types of feasting, and then discuss ethnographic and archaeological case studies. This course will require weekly reading to prepare for the seminar. close
