The aim of this seminar is to provide an overview of Roman domestic architecture between the late Hellenistic period and late antiquity, examining the following aspects: 1) the development of Roman domestic architecture; 2) space and function; 3) the relationship between space, furnishings and pictorial decoration; For this seminar basic knowledge of general aspects of archaeology, in particular Italo-Roman architecture and wall decoration, is required. Furthermore, an active engagement and a continuous collaboration with the lecturer, who will present, summarise and explain all these aspects, is expected. close
