The literary composition ‘The Advice of Shuruppag’ is stylised in the form of a father's admonition to his son, transmitted by Faraic to Old Babylonian textual representatives and represents an important testimony of Sumerian wisdom literature that teaches about numerous aspects of social conditions. In this course, selected passages from older and more recent textual representatives will be analysed and discussed. close
