The Masterübung is aimed at Master's students who are working on their Master's thesis or are about to register their Master's thesis. Ideally, the choice of topic for the thesis has already been finalised, but this is not a prerequisite for participation.
The exercise is practice-orientated. Strategies for writing the Master's thesis will be developed together. In terms of content, the focus is on the following three points: A stringent concept for the thesis should be developed that enables the topic to be narrowed down in a labour-efficient manner (1). Once the topic has been narrowed down appropriately, the outline and structure of the Master's thesis will be designed. The search for and processing of scientific literature and sources is also discussed (2). If possible, individual chapters (including the introduction, if applicable) should be discussed and improved in the exercise. Academic writing also requires a confident use of academic language. In addition to productive criticism of content, a confident academic style should therefore also be practised and methods of individual text revision tested. Formal aspects (citation etc.) can also be addressed in the exercise if required. close
