Das Modul befasst sich mit epochenspezifischen Fragestellungen und Perspektiven und besteht aus zwei Seminaren zu zwei unterschiedlichen Epochen (Antike, Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit und Neueste Geschichte). Beide Seminare müssen ein gemeinsames Modulthema behandeln („Politik“, „Gesellschaft“ oder „Vorstellungswelt“) und in zwei Semestern belegt werden. Das Modul wird mit einer mündlichen Prüfung abgeschlossen (Ordnung von 2020; Studierende aus der BA-Ordnung von 2013 müssen eine Hausarbeit schreiben). Since the present has been in constant dialogue with the past, the Peasants' Wars of 1524-26 have been one of the central sites of remembrance in German history. However, there is hardly a unified memory associated with them; rather, the Peasants' Wars have polarised over the centuries. The aim of the seminar is, on the one hand, to discuss the different interpretations of the Peasants' Wars, with a focus on recent publications that have appeared in the context of the 500th anniversary. On the other hand, the question of the relevance of the Peasants' Wars of 1525 to the present day and their relevance for the 21st century will be explored. close
