The lives of children and youths in the early modern period differed from those of today. Using selected topics from this context, the seminar introduces students to early modern history. This includes normative ideas, the everyday lives of children from different social backgrounds, as well as aspects of education, care and deviance. Students will learn how to deal with relevant concepts, methods and research approaches to early modern history. Moreover, the seminar addresses propaedeutic basics and techniques of academic work. Prerequisites for passing the seminar are continuous participation in reading and discussion as well as short written and oral contributions. Regular participation in the seminar is compulsory. The seminar forms a module together with the lecture “Introduction to Early Modern History.” close
