Comments
Historically, the 17th century can be interpreted as a period of particularly profound and violent upheaval. We will look at some of the symbols and meanings that were fundamental to people's lives and examine the perception and consequences of their upheaval as well as the cultural organisation of change. The phenomenon of violence in its various forms will take centre stage. How was violence perceived and what access do we have to the world of experience in the 17th century?
An important topic will be the introduction to the basics of academic work. In addition, there will be a discussion of source genres and methodological issues.
