'This course introduces students to a range of Ottoman sources, both primary and secondary. Throughout the course, students will read various types of archival sources, such as petitions, spy/interrogation reports, newspaper articles, and imperial decrees. Students will not only read and transcribe sources but also interpret and contextualize them. For this purpose, assigned readings will be discussed in the class.
