Comments
The course serves as an introduction to the subjects of study of East Asian art history. Through a combination of object description exercises and discussions of selected readings, individual topics—including bronzes, Buddhist art, painting, calligraphy, ceramics, lacquer art, and architecture—will be explored. The course aims to provide an initial understanding of the key genres, stylistic periods, and theoretical concepts in the field. Assessment will be based on a written exam held during the final session.
