How to become a “researcher” and some insights into working with "emerging and re-emerging diseases"

Zwei Termine: Einführung zum Thema Arbeiten in der Forschung (Doktorarbeit, PhD und Karrieremöglichkeiten) und wie in der Forschung publiziert wird ('peer-review') sowie Themenvergabe: Publikationen zu 'Emerging and re-emerging diseases'. Gerne 2 Studierende pro Thema.
Folgetermine: Teilnehmende stellen einen Erreger anhand einer aktuellen Publikation vor: kurze molekular-virologische Einordnung des Erregers, 'Seuchen'lage, Klinik, (Histo)Pathologie; Fragestellung der Publikation und Ergebnisse. Im Anschluss erfolgt eine gemeinsame Diskussion. Schwerpunkt ist der Umgang mit der Publikation und nicht primär der fachliche Inhalte

Additional information / Pre-requisites
Tow appointments : Introduction to working in research (doctoral thesis, PhD and career opportunities) and how to publish in research ('peer-review') as well as topic assignment: publications on 'Emerging and re-emerging diseases'. Gladly 2 students per topic.
Follow-up appointments: Participants present a pathogen based on a current publication: brief molecular-virological classification of the pathogen, 'epidemic' situation, clinic, (histo)pathology; question of the publication and results. This is followed by a joint discussion. The focus is on the handling of the publication and not primarily on the technical content
