From the so-called Anitta text to the various “historical introductions” of the state treaties and the inscription of Tut?alija IV on the conquest of Cyprus, we have an extensive corpus of historiographical texts in Hittite, which in terms of language and content are among the most interesting that the cuneiform tradition has to offer, as the reading of selected examples will show. close
