WiSe 23/24: Somatoform Disorders

In this seminar we want to shed light on the theoretical foundations, aetiological models, diagnostics and individual treatment approaches to somatoform disorders.
We will focus on differential diagnosis, especially in ICD10 vs. ICD11 as well as DSM-V. We will get to know different disorders such as somatoform pain disorders, chronic pain, simulation, as well as body stress disorder and body integrity identity disorder. In the second half of the semester we will get to know different therapeutic approaches and explain difficulties and challenges that one can encounter when working with patients. close
