Competencies for the AI age - Artificial Intelligence Across Domains

In view of the enormous progress in the field of artificial intelligence and its growing influence on content, methods and tools in almost all disciplines, it is crucial for future professionals to acquire AI skills in order to be able to work effectively and responsibly in this new phase of digital transformation. The online-supported module “AI Across Domains” is therefore aimed at bachelor's students at Freie Universität Berlin who want to acquire AI skills for their professional activities, in which AI applications are becoming increasingly important. The aim of the module is also to provide a comprehensive overview of the opportunities and challenges that arise for society and the disciplines through the development of the AI field. Therefore, as part of the module, students will acquire skills related to the technological perspective of AI (How does AI work?), the applied perspective of AI (How can I use AI in my field?) and the social perspective of AI (What impact does AI have on my field and society?). AI Across Domains modules are interdisciplinary and therefore suitable for students from all disciplines. Within the individual areas, references to the individual disciplines are continuously highlighted, reflected upon and deepened. The module is interactive, collaborative and creative, with tasks and content designed to ensure continuous motivation and sustainable learning success. In a final project phase, students have the opportunity to put the AI knowledge, skills and abilities acquired during the module into practice.
