Mentoring Colloquium

Comments
This colloquium is meant for advanced MA students and for PhD students in their early stages. Finishing an MA and potentially pursuing a PhD in philosophy comes with many questions: should I really do a PhD? Where, with whom, how, why? How to apply for funding? How to find a dissertation topic? For PhD students there are usually equally many questions: How to manage all the different tasks (reading/writing, conferences, teaching, admin,...) over the years of a PhD?
How not to be overwhelmed by a writing project of several years? Should I write a book or a paper- based dissertation? How to write a paper for an international peer-reviewed journal? How to give good presentations at workshops and conferences? How to teach in an inclusive way?
How to be a good colleague and a role model for students?
These are exemplary questions of what will be addressed in this colloquium. We‘re talking about one specific question in each session. More advanced scholars will join and share their experiences but first and foremost it is a space for exchange among PhD and advanced MA students. The schedule will be made available in the first session close
