The MA colloquium reviews key concepts in research design, including crafting a good research question, writing a compelling literature review, and selecting strategies for empirical analysis. The majority of the course is devoted to student workshopping of their thesis projects. During the colloquium students will present drafts of their own work and provide constructive feedback on the work of their peers. The course is designed for students who already have a thesis topic and are ready to develop a research plan. There is no hybrid option and students have to be present for the entire semester. close
