Interpreting the Past through Objects: Integrating Digital Methods and Archaeological Reasoning
Hubert Mara
Comments
This interdisciplinary seminar explores how digital methods can be applied to the archaeological interpretation of objects and sites. Related to the 3D practice session (13879-W25), students will examine case studies from different archaeological traditions, with a focus on material from Western Asian and European archaeological sites, Prehistory, and other fields. Emphasis will be placed on the cultural, social, and historical significance of finds, as well as on methodological reflection. The seminar fosters critical engagement with digital tools and encourages students to develop their own analytical approaches to complex archaeological records, ranging from stratified settlements to curated artefact types.
