Analyzing Comparative Longitudinal Survey Data
Claudia Traini
Comments
Many international cross-sectional surveys, such as the European Social Survey, the World Values Survey, the International Social Survey Programme, have been conducted repeatedly over years or decades. They cover a wide range of topics, from demography and religiosity to social and political attitudes. This course introduces students to the analysis of comparative longitudinal survey data (CLSD) using multilevel models that capture variation between countries, changes over time, and differences across individuals. We will move from two- to three-level models, draw on insights from panel data analysis, and apply these strategies to CLSD. By the end of the course, students will be able to model cross-national differences, social change, and the effects of country-level factors on individuals. Practical sessions will use Stata.” close
