Comments

This introductory history seminar focuses on the sources of the Holocaust. Using selected examples of regular reporting, special reports, eyewitness accounts and early testimony of survivors, the different legacies will be presented, and the possibilities and limits of interpretation will be discussed. Different methodological uses of traditions, such as Perpetrator Research, Ghetto Research, Holocaust Oral History, and Holocaust & Gender Studies are linked to this. The second focus is on working with source editions, Internet access and archival materials. Students are given the opportunity to gain an overview of the tradition, the state of development and the possible use of sources. close
