Comments
The lectures will focus on a basic understanding of freshwater ecosystems (i.e. lakes, rivers, riparian areas). These include spatio-temporal physico-chemical properties of water bodies, nutrient turnover, food web interactions, eco-evolutionary dynamics, and a range of biodiversity aspects.
The students will gain a basic understanding of the physical and biological structure and functioning of aquatic and semi-terrestrial ecosystems including important theoretical concepts of the mechanisms driving aquatic communities and biodiversity. They will be able to critically analyse and present current research problems and publications. close
