Comments

Visual history is an interdisciplinary and expanding field of research located at the interface of history, art and media studies. On the one hand, visual history studies utilise the image as a historical witness (eyewitness), on the other hand they are interested in the visuality of history and the historicity of the visual. The aim of this course is to introduce students to these very different approaches and perspectives on the visual and to provide an overview of the research field of visual cultures. close
