The aim of the lecture is to provide as broad an overview as possible of the central themes of the early modern period. In addition to questions of periodisation, fundamental structures of the period and its habitats will be explained, selected processes of the period will be discussed and research-relevant methods and approaches of early modern research will be presented. The lecture deals with the history of the early modern period as European history in a global context and aims to get students interested in this period. close
