General Information

The Studentendorf Schlachtensee is located in southwest Berlin in the district Zehlendorf. The city center can be reached within 40 minutes.

The "student village" is located within immediate walking distance to grocery markets, a number of restaurants and bakeries, as well as doctors' offices.

The center of the district Steglitz is the Schloßstraße. Here you can find several malls, cafés and a movie theather. You can reach this area within 25 minutes via the stop “Rathaus Steglitz”.

Moreover, the close by lakes Schlachtensee and Wannsee offer many possibilities for leisure activities.

  • Security deposit to be paid upon move-in: 1.075 EUR (including a non-refundable service fee of 125 EUR). 575 EUR of this fee is to be paid as reservation fee upon registration.

• Private room (category A) in shared apartment: 555.13 EUR

  • A limited number of rooms are available from 01.09.2024 until 15.12.2024 (note that time period is fixed)

Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attention

• Moving in before the start of the official rental period is eventually possible, subject to availability of the rooms, and has to be arranged with the residence administration of the Studentendorf and the accommodation service of Freie Universität Berlin.
• A termination of the rental contract before the expiration of the fixed-term rental period of 6 months is generally not possible or negotiable.
• An extension of the contract for another semester is subject to availability and has to be arranged with the staff at Studentendorf directly and the Accommodation Service of Freie Universität Berlin.
  
  
  

Application Process:
You apply for your desired room category via our registration form. We will forward your registration to Studentendorf Schlachtensee.

Please note that we do not have any influence on the placement. It might be possible that your actual placement deviates from your initial wish as the rooms are distributed depending on availability. You will receive information on your actual placement directly from Studentendorf Schlachtensee.

Usually male and female students are placed together. Preferences for single sex accommodation can be stated in the application form. The staff at Studentendorf Schlachtensee tries its best to fulfill your wishes.

 

Reservation Fee:

A reservation fee of 575 EUR applies. The amount will be forwarded from ERG Universitätsservice GmbH to the Studentendorf Schlachtensee administration and will be charged with the security deposit.

The security deposit for Category B is 950 EUR. Furthermore, a one-time service fee of 125 EUR applies. Therefore, the tenant has to pay a total of 500 EUR directly in the administration of Studentendorf Schlachtensee upon arrival (provided that the reservation fee of 575 EUR has already been paid in full). The service fee will be deducted from the reservation fee.

The security deposit will be kept by the Studentendorf Schlachtensee administration until the student moves out. The security deposit will be refunded by the Studentendorf Schlachtensee administration up to six months after the tenant´s departure as long the tenant does not have any outstanding costs.

The tenant will be required to pay the rent each month directly to the Studentendorf Schlachtensee. Bank account details can be found in the rental contract.

Cancelations:

Generally, a two-weeks right of withdrawal applies after registration (the moment we reserve a room for you and send you the payment request for the reservation fee). After that period the registration is binding.

Cancelations of existing registrations must be communicated in writing (an e-mail is sufficient, but has to be confirmed by the ERG Universitätsservice GmbH) at the latest 14 days after the registration. A 75 EUR cancelation fee applies and will be deducted from the reservation fee before it is refunded to the student by Freie Universität Berlin / ERG Universitätsservice GmbH. All bank transaction fees have to be covered by the student.

A termination of the rental contract before the end of the rental period is generally not possible or negotiable.

Generally, no fees of any kind are refunded in case of cancelation more than two weeks after the registration. The whole amount of the reservation fee will be kept.
