The Libraries4Future initiative was founded in 2019 by members of LIBREAS and the Netzwerk Grüne Bibliothek (Green Libraries Network). It is an official statement formulated by librarians and library employees around the world. The Libraries4Future website specifies five main principles for improving library sustainability. These have now been translated into more than fifteen languages. The University Library has signed the Libraries4Future policy statement, committing itself to follow and share these five principles.
