GreenFUBib – Promoting Sustainability at the University Library

The GreenFUBib working group was created as a result of the 2020–2025 Strategy for the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin. One of the core values established in the strategy is “sustainability and responsibility.” As such, any decisions taken by the University Library should always take ecological, economic, and social sustainability into account.

The GreenFUBib Working Group

The working group was established in March 2021 and is comprised of colleagues from across the University Library. The entire group meets once a month online to discuss the latest developments. Specific projects are organized by individual subgroups, who also meet at regular intervals.

Measures and Activities

One of the main tasks of the GreenFUBib working group is establishing strong connections with other decision-makers across the university. We are continually developing and expanding upon specific measures for improving sustainability at Freie Universität.
