The libraries at Freie Universität generally offer two different types of PC workstations:
Library-owned Thin Clients
Both external users and FU members can log in at the computer workstations (so-called Thin Clients, all-in-one PCs from HP, without DVD-ROM drives) in the libraries. With the exception of a few guest research stations, users log in using their FU account (FU students) or library login.

Important note: To avoid data loss, please remove your USB stick from the computer after logging out (a regular eject function is not implemented).
FUB IT Pool PCs
Only FU members can log in to the FUB IT computer workstations. The devices offer you more software, but do not have DVD-ROM drives (these can be borrowed free of charge with a library card via the “Primo der Dinge” service).

Laptops or other mobile devices
You can use your own laptops or other mobile devices anywhere on the university campus. Power outlets, LAN, and Wi-Fi are available to university members via Eduroam or an installed VPN client (see also: Wireless LAN).
