German Studies Center (ZDS) at Peking University
The German Studies Center (ZDS) is an interdisciplinary institution at Peking University that in close collaboration, particularly with Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt Universität Berlin, focuses on Germany-related topics in teaching and research.
In addition to academic research, teaching plays an essential role at the German Studies Center (ZDS). The principle element is the interdisciplinary jointly organized master's degree program “German Culture and Social Change,” which qualifies graduates of different disciplines not only to become experts in their subjects, but also for Germany. The master's degree program includes two semesters in Berlin.
At the same time the ZDS plays an important role for Chinese-German academic and cultural exchange. It is a member of the network of 20 centers for German and European Studies worldwide that are currently or were formerly funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
