Liaison Office of the University of Alberta in Berlin
The Liaison Office of the University of Alberta was established in Berlin in 2011 and is based at the International House of Freie Universität Berlin since 2016. The Liaison Office coordinates a summer school for Canadian students (e3 in Berlin) in the International House. This program is offering students three experiences in one location: German language study, internship placement, academic course work. The Liaison Office in Berlin makes these experiences unique by organizing intercultural meetings, side activities as well as talks with guest speakers and site visits during the academic course. The office is contact point regarding all matters related to the students stay and gives support with the orientation on the ground.
Furthermore, the Liaison Office supports students who are wishing to participate in the International Work Experience (IWE) program (formally Berlin Internship Initiative) and helps to strengthen ties with alumni of the University of Alberta in the region.
The Berlin office fosters the liaisons between the University of Alberta and local German organizations, institutions and companies.
