This means that most of this funding is already committed to existing expenditures that cannot simply be cut out or reduced in the short term. It will be necessary to implement significant structural changes to ensure that Freie Universität Berlin can continue to function within the constraints of its new, lower budget. After all, these budget cuts are structural in nature. The decisions made regarding the budget cuts for 2025 will be taken as a basis for future budgetary decisions.
