Energy Consumption in November 2022
Our Energy Monitor gives you an overview of our current energy consumption patterns in comparison to 2021 and 2019*.
Electricity
In November 2022, Freie Universität consumed 9.2% less energy than in November 2019, and 3.4% less energy than in November 2021. In some buildings, energy consumption was able to be reduced by more than one third compared with November 2019. The data collected represent approximately 98% of the electricity consumed in the various buildings and institutions at Freie Universität Berlin during the time periods specified. Heat Consumption
In terms of heat consumption and making adjustments for weather conditions, 16.8% less heat energy was consumed across campus in November 2022 compared with November 2019, i.e., before the Covid-19 restrictions to researching and teaching in person came into effect. Compared with November 2021, heat consumption was reduced by approximately 21.6%.
In some individual buildings, the energy consumption levels for heating were able to be reduced by almost 50% in comparison with November 2019. The data collected represent approximately 90% of the heat consumed in the various buildings and institutions at Freie Universität Berlin during the time periods specified.
