The second of the Center’s innovative programs is the establishment of temporary concept laboratories on current issues that fall within its thematic framework. They will bring together between five and ten researchers from all over the world, including the German-speaking countries, with members of the Center for a few days during summer term in Berlin. Every year, one concept laboratory will be convened.
Proposals may be submitted by all members of the Center. Topics should comply with the Center’s overall objective of generating new perspectives for research in the humanities.
The results will be published in English. To provide an adequate forum for publication, the Center will launch a book series entitled Trends in Humanities, which may also include the publication of other proceedings from the Center’s projects, above all the Dahlem Humanities Center Lectures.
