Journey of A Researcher from India to Germany - Human Geography

The India offices of Freie Universität Berlin & University of Cologne are organised another session of their online Info Series, titled Journey of a Researcher from India to Germany, on study and research opportunities in the field of “Human Geography”, wherein alumni from both universities shared their journey of research and education from India to Germany with fellow aspirants.
Dr. Lavinia Mawlong (Senior District Research Fellow, Meghalaya District Research Fellowship, Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department, Government of Meghalaya) representing Freie Universität Berlin, and Dr. Amrita Datta (Lecturer and Researcher at Department of Sociology, University of Bielefeld and Associate Member, Global South Studies Centre, University of Cologne) representing the University of Cologne were our guest speakers for this session.
Human Geography includes key areas such as cultural, economic, political, and urban geography, linking with disciplines like anthropology and sociology. It focuses on spatial patterns and classifications. The session aimed to provide insight into how to search for study and research opportunities in Germany, funding options and career prospects in the field of Human Geography.
