Other exchange opportunities and sources of funding for Freie Universität affiliates:Freie Universität Berlin has signed partnership agreements (Memorandum of Understanding - MoU) with the University of Delhi, IIT Madras, and the University of Hyderabad regarding graduate programs for Master’s and doctoral students. Scholarships are available that provide support for a semester abroad or an entire academic year. Please note that the academic year in Berlin and India does not have the same start and end dates. For details regarding deadlines, the application process, and scholarship amounts, interested Master’s students and doctoral candidates at Freie Universität Berlin should contact the Division of International Affairs at international-office@fu-berlin.de
The PROMOS program also provides funding opportunities for students at different levels interested in traveling to India for up to six months.
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) also offers scholarships to international students from outside India. Interested students are strongly encouraged to apply. Chances of being awarded a scholarship are quite high, due to the small number of applications that are usually submitted. You can read more about funding options on the ICCR website or contact the culture counselor at the Embassy of India (culture@indianembassy.de) directly.
